This weekend, the first ever Moby Dick Marathon reading is happening in the Big Apple, and Cozy Classics will be there! The marathon-style reading of Herman Melville’s American classic, Moby-Dick, Or, the Whale celebrates the anniversary of the novel’s publication in the United States on November 14, 1851. The inaugural NYC marathon will span three days, three bookstores, and two boroughs, featuring over 100 readers.
One of the locations for the Moby Dick Marathon, Housing Works, is a bookstore cafe which aims to “end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain our efforts.” All the books sold at Housing Works are received by donation. Cozy Classics will be donating copies of our version of Moby Dick to Housing Works to support their important work.
If you’re in the NYC area this weekend, check out this amazing event!
