I had the great privilege of attending the American Booksellers Association’s 9th annual Winter Institute (WI9) this past Thursday. When I stepped into the Grand Ballroom at the Westin in Seattle, the wonderful sign and big stack of Cozy Classics: Emma shown above awaited me. For an hour-and-a-half, I was happily inundated with eager signature-seekers. It was a thrill for me to meet so many wonderful independent booksellers from across the United States (and a few from Canada), many of whom raved about our series and told me that they loved selling Cozy Classics.
After the Author Reception, I was invited to dinner at the wonderful Mediterranean restaurant Andaluca with Ingram reps Gary Lothian and Eileen Golinski, as well as some VIP booksellers from The Maine Coast Book Shop Cafe in Damariscotta, Maine and Powell’s Books, with multiple locations in Portland, Oregon. It was a great time had by all. A big thanks to Gary, Eileen, and Ingram Publisher Services for their first-rate hospitality!
With any luck, I’ll be seeing everyone again in Asheville, North Carolina for WI10! Maybe I’ll bring Jack along, too!
